metamorphosis w/ running violets

The theme of this mix was especially pertinent for me. I've found myself in the cocoon of my Tennessee home after being laid off from a job I loved in NYC. I'd worked years to land there. But New York wasn't working for me. I'd have never taken a hiatus without this change transpiring. In some ways the event, being let go, was devastating. But in a sort of larger serendipitous way, everything seemed to be guiding me home. Despite my unending urge to play dance music when recording, here I coaxed myself into mixing what I listen to most--especially in turbulent times: ambient sounds, the ultimate salve for the soul.
